DAV Sanskriti School is committed to bring East and West together with their best. As our children grow in the wonderful land of opportunities in the USA, we ascertain that they pick up the time tested ancient Indian values so that they maintain a high moral ground based on Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya and Aparigraha – desisting from hurting, telling falsehood, stealing/cheating, lust and hoarding – the five elements of Yama in Patanjali's Yoga-Darshanam. Also, they inherit strong family bonding that they pass on the value of united family to their next generation – sarvebhavantusukhinah. They inspire their minds and actions from the Supreme Consciousness – Dhiyoyo nah prachodayat. They will learn to be proud of themselves with a healthy body in a strong and calm mind.

AYM (Arya Yuva Mandal)
High School Students form the Arya Yuva Mandal (AYM) youth organization within DAV Sanskriti School focusing on Dharma Shiksha (Applied Hinduism), Sewa (Community Service), and Vikas (Career & Life Skills), and Engagement in Indian Cultural Activities. The group meets on Sundays from 9:45-Noon. Properly supervised and well-organized social events enable AYM members to have fun, make friends, raise funds for cherished causes and hone their Personality, Teamwork, Organizational, Management and Leadership skills.

Acharya Bramdeo Mokoonlall
Acharya Bramdeo Mokoonlall joined DAVSS & Arya Samaj Greater Houston in May 2022. Scholar & spiritual leader with academic credentials in Science, Banking, Management, and Vedic Philosophy, his career spans finance, industry, and spiritual service, including key roles at Arya Sabha Mauritius and the Mauritius Council of Religion. He is a strong advocate for Vedic values, Yog, and interfaith dialogue. He is currently leading the design of lesson plans to match contemporary teaching methodologies.

Ankit Bhatla is a structural engineer working at WorleyParsons inHouston, TX. Originally from Delhi India.

I love teaching at DAV Sanskriti school children because they absorb knowledge like a sponge as you teach and reciprocate with their love.
We came to the US when our kids(twins) were 4 years old. We were away from our country and I was worried that my kids would forget their language, values and traditions. We found Arya Samaj when the kids turned six. Not only the kids but we started to love coming here. Our kids learnt so many things .... Performing the havan, learning about Vedic values, traditions, cultures, festivals and knowledge of their motherland. They also learnt how to volunteer and give back to the community. They have been blessed to have been surrounded by teachers, uncles and aunties at Arya Samaj who showered loads of love and encouragement. Not only our kids, but us as parents also have made many lifelong friends at Arya Samaj. They are graduating now and leave for college this year but with a promise to keep coming back whenever they are in town. Arya Samaj has now become a part of our lives and we, as parents, are looking forward to staying connected as volunteers.
We started coming to Arya Samaj in July of 1994. We were looking for a Sunday School for our children. Both my children joined DAVSS at the same time. The DAVSS school used to be really small. Praveen Gulati Ji and Munish Gulati Ji used to Naitik Shiksha teacher and Ramesh Dwivedi Ji used to be Hindi teacher. Both our children attended DAVSS regularly for almost 10 years. We are really grateful to DAVSS. my children still remember Sanskriti School for ingratiating all the good Indian values. Charu graduated from DAVSS in 2000 and Sidharth continued to be at the school till 2004. Minu has been associated with DAVSS for almost 20 years and I have tried to do my part in the last 3 years. -
I will always be grateful for the fact that DAV Sanskriti school gave me a community of both peers who shared the desire to learn more about our heritage and culture and teachers who were willing to impart their knowledge on those topics. The festivals and community events, the weekly satsangs, and the meaningful bonds that I formed in my time in DAVSS (whether friendships or mentor-mentee relationships) have made a positive impact on how I carry myself today.
DAV Sanskriti School is an incredible opportunity for youth to understand their religion, culture, and heritage. It is also a forum for youth to interact and build community with those from similar backgrounds. Ultimately, DAVSS is a shining example of what is possible when folks come together with a common goal of supporting students! Incredible program that changed my life and helped me discover more about my own heritage.
We're very pleased to be part of ASGH since our daughter Aarnavi joined the Sanskriti School in 2023-24. The Arya Samaj has been very instrumental in shaping her young mind and thoughts around our great culture and roots. We've also been able to make meaningful connections and bonds with fellow families. We feel blessed to be a part of such a thriving community, a home away from home!
Our family has been devoted Arya Samajis for generations. We follow the principles of Arya Samaj and observe its important rituals in all aspects of our lives. We especially cherish attending Havans, Bhajans, and Parvachan at the Arya Samaj every Sunday. Even before the Arya Samaj was established in Houston, we regularly performed Havans with Pitaji, Mr. R. C. Mahajan.
In Loving Memory
Acharya Praveen Gulati Ji was a devoted Arya Samaji and one of the founding members of Arya Samaj Greater Houston. He served as Acharya here for over a decade, dedicating his life to the propagation of Vedic values, truth, and selfless service. A respected spiritual guide, he touched countless lives through his wisdom, warmth, love, and unwavering commitment. His children, Sanjay and Eesha, have grown up within the Arya Samaj community, deeply shaped by its teachings. His wife, Rita Ji, and sister, Ranju Ji, have also contributed countless years of sincere service. We miss him dearly, and his legacy continues to inspire the community he helped build.
The Batra family’s association with Arya Samaj began after they moved to Houston, at a time when havans and gatherings were often hosted in homes. What drew them in from the beginning was the strong sense of community, service, and a shared belief in a greater power. Over the years, this community has continued to be a meaningful part of their spiritual journey. The Batra family is grateful for the opportunity to serve as Yajmaans and to participate together in this sacred tradition.
Our family has been connected to Arya Samaj from last year, but kids study in the DAV school. Our elder son Ivaan studied there for 2 years and now Abhimanyu is studying there from last 2 years.
